About us

Based in the Midlands, surrounded by rolling hills and fresh air, Sally’s Midlands Mixes came about in our family kitchen during lockdown in 2020.

A need for good healthy whole foods could not be more important for our bodies right now. We need to boost our immune systems and eat less processed foods.

I have been making granola for my family for many years. Having studied sports nutrition (many moons ago), and being a keen triathlete and long distance cyclist, I understand the need for protein and fibre in our diets.

It was my husband, Sean, who encouraged me to share the granola love with friends and family. The business has now bloomed, and in just a few weeks, the granola love has spread as far as Cape Town!

Meet the team

Sally Jackson

It was my Mom, aka “Ma Brown” and my blind Granny Gus who taught me how to bake. Mom made the best Roly-Poly pudding and Granny Gus made the best Rock Cakes. I was taught well.

After travelling all over the world I came back home to South Africa where I met Sean – our Nut Counter. We are fortunate to have two awesome children, Dan and Stella.

I was a stay-at-home Mom, until lockdown. This is when Sally’s Midlands Mixes was created. And now I can class myself as a proud entrepreneur. Thanks to the collaboration of our team, the business is growing wings.

Sean Jackson

Sean, my husband, is the brains and finance behind Sally’s Midlands Mixes.

He is, without doubt, an invaluable member of our team. Sean juggles 3 jobs (in no particular order) – his main job is working in the transport industry, his second job is working on Sally's Midlands Mixes when I need him to fill in the blanks, and his third job is being the best Dad we, as a family, could ask for.

Sean even gets ‘stuck in’ by chopping and sorting the nuts when we have deadlines.

Lindo Zuma

Lindo joined the team recently and has been a great asset.

Lindo is a Mom to a young boy and a fur baby and was brought up on a farm, not too far from here.

She has worked in the hospitality industry for many years. Where she worked previously as a waitress, she got to help out in the kitchen, but this is her first “baking” job and she is doing amazingly well. Lindo preps and bakes our granola and will be there to meet you with a smile.

Marco & Claire Trobec

When the idea of ‘Sally’s Midlands Mixes’ was born, I contacted my friend, Claire. We have been friends since school days – and let’s just say it has been a LONG time since we were at school!

Claire and her husband, Marco, own HIGH FIVE Graphic Design. The two of them designed everything from my logo to my website and all sorts of marketing material we have used since the start and now, have brought to life, 'Oakie', who is exclusively ours.

It has been an amazing journey to share with good talented friends.
